CIMA slams ICAEW recruiting tactics

CIMA chief executive Charles Tilley questions the professionalism of the ICAEW over recruitment issues

Written by Kevin Reed

A row has broken out between CIMA and the ICAEW, with the management accounting institute complaining to the Financial Reporting Council that the ICAEW is looking to poach its most senior members.

CIMA chief executive Charles Tilley has slammed the institute by claiming that his members had been 'cold-called' by the ICAEW to take up the ACA qualification.

He claimed that the move would 'confuse the marketplace', and questioned the 'professionalism' of the ICAEW.

Tilley has asked the FRC arm, POBA, to look into the ICAEW's strategy.
