Sage expands Irish operations

Accounting software giant to expand existing Irish operations

Newcastle-based accounting software group Sage has announced plans to expand
its existing operation in Dublin, with the support of IDA Ireland, the Irish
Government agency with responsibility for securing new investment from
overseas.

Sage will establish an international localisation centre and European data
centre at its Ballsbridge site creating 40 new highly skilled jobs.

Sage operates two subsidiary businesses in the Republic. Sage Ireland is
located at Dublin's Citywest where a workforce of 200 markets and supports
products and services for Irish customers, whole Sage Technologies in
Ballsbridge develops customer relationship management software and already
has a workforce of 40 people.

Commenting on the new operations, Irish enterprise and trade minister
Micheal Martin said: 'Sage Group's decision to establish the localisation
and data centres in Dublin will deepen Ireland's capability and enhance our
international reputation in these areas.'
