EU official denied redress

Whistleblower loses court battle after exposing £3m fraud at Eurostat

Written by Alex Hawkes

A whistleblower who helped expose fraud at Eurostat, the EU data office, was denied redress yesterday for the difficulties she suffered after helping expose the £3m looting of funds.

Dorte Schmidt-Brown has been on sick leave since exposing the fraud, having fled home after threats and harassment, The Daily Telegraph reports today.

No Eurostat official has been punished for the fraud, which occurred more than three years ago.

Schmidt-Brown was ordered to pay her own costs.
