The launch, set to take place solely in the US in late 2005, is a new edition of Microsoft Office for Small Business Management, including Microsoft Office Small Business Accounting.

A spokeswoman said that there were 'no plans for a UK release at the moment'.

The software is intended to help small businesses manage sales, marketing and financial processes in a single, integrated Office environment.

It is understood that the new product will go up against Intuit's small business software in the US.
