Government websites are so bad that they are largely ignored by members of the public, says the parliamentary spending watchdog, the Public Accounts Committee.

According to the BBC the influential House of Commons committee found that information on some government sites was out of date or inaccurate.
The Downing Street website, for example, did not have a complete, up-to-date list of ministers, while the UK Online site had as the latest 'hot topic' information on the Budget - nearly two months after the event.
The committee said users need to be able to get information from a single source, and websites needed to be designed around specific services.
