Winner: HansaWorld

For the second year in a row, Berkshire-based HansaWorld UK has won the Accountancy Age Award for Mid-range Software Package of the Year, beating competitors Coda 2Control, Coda Dream and Rugged Logic.

The company has recorded between 5% and 15% growth each year since 1995, and is known for its exceptional functionality and breadth.

The company has a track record of completing 95% of implementations on time and under budget, and releases upgrades every nine months. The company has one support person for every 200 clients and never has more than 300 bugs at a time emerging from its 1.3 million lines of code.

'Everything works in a truly integrated manner. Stock that we buy can be automatically created as assets if we choose to add them to the rental fleet and then automatically depreciated,' says Roger Cherowbrier from Topcon. 'We are very impressed with the different levels of analysis offered by HansaWorld. We can assess the turnover and profitability of everything we do.'

Matti Zadok from Experian Integrated Marketing says: 'We are not aware of any other systems on which we could have achieved so much for anything like the money we have paid for HansaWorld.'

The judges were as impressed as HansaWorld's clients. 'HansaWorld shows excellent overall functionality with very positive customer feedback. It is so easy to implement and offers multiple platforms. Really innovative and incredibly wide-ranging,' the judges said.
