BAKER TILLY has bought payroll, HR solutions and business services firm Employer Services Ltd (esl) in a bid to beef up its expertise in the area.
The Brentwood-based company offers online and managed payroll as well as international payroll services linked to a secure online portal are among the service lines offered.
Mark Holland, Baker Tilly’s business services partner, said: “This merger will allow us to expand our payroll service to the market while providing esl with greater resource and new opportunities to enhance its current offering.
“The deal comes at an exciting time for the firm with our upcoming rebrand and name change to RSM later this month. Being a member of the RSM international network with 112 member firms across the world will provide both firms with a global platform with which to deliver the broad range of services our expanding international client base requires.’
All 45 employees will be joining Baker Tilly.
In June, the Top Ten firm Baker Tilly invested in OpenHR from Advanced Business Solutions as it sought to efficiently store, update and access HR information relating to its 3,500 staff and report on key metrics.
Earlier this year Baker Tilly, along with other RSM member firms, announced it would rebrand to simply ‘RSM’. The move follows other major networks incorporating a single name across their firms, including the Big Four, BDO in 2009 and Grant Thornton in 2008.
