NICK OWEN has been elected as chairman of Deloitte UK by the firm’s partners.
He is currently a member of the board of partners and vice chairman of Deloitte UK. His term as chairman will commence on 1 June 2015, succeeding David Cruickshank who has held the role since 2007.
Initially a partner in Deloitte’s audit business, Owen has been a consulting partner for the last 17 years. He leads the firm’s private sector consulting team and has advised many of our largest and most influential clients, along with high growth smaller companies.
He has more than 28 years’ experience, predominantly in the private sector working with energy, media, telecommunications, consumer and life science businesses.
He joined Deloitte in 2002 from Andersen, where he was managing partner of Andersen Business Consulting.
The announcement follows the re-election of David Sproul as the UK firm’s senior partner and chief executive.
Nick Owen, chairman-elect of Deloitte, said: “It is an honour and a privilege to be elected to the role of chairman of Deloitte at an exciting time for our firm and our clients. The certainty provided by this month’s election outcome should provide a boost to economic confidence and a platform for businesses to invest and pursue growth.
“I passionately believe Deloitte and our 15,000 professionals make an impact that matters in many ways: whether through helping our clients succeed and grow, providing trust and confidence, the investment we make in recruitment, education and training or through our support of social enterprise. In my role as Chairman, I want to encourage a better understanding of the contribution our firm makes to society and the wider business community.”
