Parry takes managing partner role at Blackburn firm PM+M

Jane Parry to serve as managing partner, taking over from longstanding head Stephen Anderson, as part of a management reshuffle

JANE PARRY has taken the managing partner role at Blackburn firm PM+M.

Parry who currently serves as its lead tax partner, takes the role on in May from Stephen Anderson.

Managing partner for ten years, Anderson will serve for another year as partner before stepping down from the business. During this period he will help hand over the role to Parry.

“My entire working life has been spent at PM+M and it’s been an incredible 31 years. However, I feel that now is the right time for me to move on and I know the firm will be in great hands,” said Anderson.

First senior partner

David Gorton, head of corporate services, will assume the newly created role of senior partner. This position will see him focus on marketing and business development strategies as well as servicing clients.

“Both Jane and David are passionate about its success and have worked closely with me to forge its identity and culture. I know I’m passing the mantle onto a talented leadership team who will build on what we’ve already achieved together,” Anderson added.

Parry’s new responsibilities will include managing the practice, driving its growth and developing its people and culture. Both she and Gorton will maintain their existing client portfolios.

Parry said the changes, and Anderson’s departure next year, “undoubtedly marks a new era for PM+M”.

“Under his leadership, we have grown our services, increased our turnover and consistently delivered an outstanding level of service to our clients. His style of leadership has made a huge impact on the business and it’s an approach that we will be building on and taking forward.

“He has been an inspirational colleague and we are all delighted that he will be part of the PM+M family for the next 12 months. Our aim is to ensure that there is a seamless handover for both our clients and team,” Parry added.

Anderson said he would use his retirement to spend more time with his family and look for ways to contribute to the community on a non-paid basis.

The ten-partner firm is based across two sites in Blackburn and Burnley, and is a member of accounting alliance Praxity.
