Sage ends search for new CFO
Sage appoints former Invensys CFO Steve Hare as its new finance chief
ACCOUNTING SOFTWARE company Sage has appointed Steve Hare as its new chief financial officer, ending its three month search for a successor to long-term finance chief Paul Harrison.
Hare joins the FTSE 100 business from Apax Partners, where he is co-head of the portfolio support group. He previously worked as CFO for three listed UK companies, most recently with Invensys from 2006 to 2009.
Guy Berruyer, Sage chief executive, said: “Steve brings considerable finance and business expertise developed with global companies, augmented by operational experience gained with private equity. This appointment further strengthens our executive team and he will play a key role in driving forward our strategy and realising our growth ambitions.”
Predecessor Harrison stepped down on 30 August to become CFO of New York Stock Exchange listed Wandisco, having been with the company for more than 16 years initially joining in 1997 as group financial controller, taking the CFO role in 2000.
Hare takes over as CFO with effect from 3 January 2014.
