Ex-AngloGold CFO takes non-exec position at Goldstone

THE FORMER CFO of gold mining business AngloGold Ashanti has taken a non-executive role at rival Goldstone Resources.

Jonathan Best joins AIM quoted gold exploration business Goldstone as a non-executive director.

CIMA-qualified Best was CFO of AngloGold Ashanti for eight years to 2005 but has been a director of the business, then trading as Vaal Reefs, since 1994.

He remains a non-executive director at AngloGold Ashanti and is chairman of the audit committee and member of the remuneration committee at Russian-based mining business PolyMetal International.

CEO Jurie Wessels said: "We welcome Jonathan to the board at a time when we are making important investments to advance all of our projects and look forward to making use of his wealth of experience and receiving the benefits of his advice and insights."
