Ian Kenyon to join HMV, in place of David Wolffe, later in the year
IAN KENYON has been appointed group FD of HMV, a day after David Wolffe announced his departure.
Kenyon joins from Carphone Warehouse, where he has served as CFO of its Best Buy joint venture, Best Buy Europe. He was previously group FD of Carpetright for three years, and has also held senior roles at J Sainsbury, Kingfisher and St Ives.
Wolffe will remain in the post until Kenyon arrives on 3 September.
“He brings with him very valuable experience of working with some very well-run companies and I look forward to working with him,” said HMV group chairman Phillip Rowley.
The entertainment retailer’s shares were 0.25p down in this morning’s trading, at 3.25p.
