Melanie McLaren and Michelle Sansom take on senior accounting standard roles at FRC
MELANIE MCLAREN is the new executive director of governance codes and standards at the FRC.
The former PwC partner and ex-Friends Provident business risk director takes on responsibility for maintaining an effective framework of codes and standards.
She is joined by fellow new recruit Michelle Sansom, who has been appointed director of accounting. Currently project director at the ASB, the chartered accountant will help develop the FRC’s priorities on international accounting standards and on finalising changes to UK GAAP.
FRC chief executive Stephen Haddrill said: “Both appointments are important to our maintenance of an effective framework of UK codes and standards, including accounting and reporting standards. Together, they will play a lead role in seeking to influence the development of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).”
