MARTIN YOUNG has left Coutts to join Grant Thornton as head of financial planning for London.

Young, previously managing partner for Coutts & Co, developed the private bank's Fleet Street office, which became the highest revenue-generating private client team. It focused on the legal and accountancy sectors.

At Grant Thornton Young will lead a team of seven investment advisors.

Grant Thornton national head of financial planning Neil Messenger said: "I am delighted Martin has joined the firm and I am excited to see how he will take the team to the next level. Martin comes equipped with vital expertise at a time of great challenges in the market and so will provide a steady hand our clients can rely on."
