KPMG has signed an alliance with the Institute for Family Business (IFB).
The Big Four accounting firm will work with the FIB in educational and networking events for member organisations.
The IFB is an independent, not-for-profit membership association which supports UK family-owned businesses through forums, representation and research.
Family firms account for 40% of total private-sector employment, providing jobs to 9.2million people, KMPG said.
