BAKER TILLY partner Danielle Stewart has been appointed by the Department of Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) to review suggestions to streamline company law.

Stewart (pictured) has been named as a champion of BIS' review of red tape, which gives the public an opportunity to comment on the regulations applying to specific sectors of business.

"I have often seen smaller businesses in particular struggle with the weight and complexity of bureaucracy applicable to them," Stewart said.

She added that the BIS review "represents an opportunity to go the final mile towards ensuring that every aspect of regulation applicable to UK companies is necessary, appropriate and is as efficient as it can be".
