SKYEPHARMA CFO Peter Grant has taken the top role at the drug technology company, after Axel Mueller stepped down to pursue other interests.
Chairman Frank Condella said that Grant's knowledge of the group, its finances and "excellent record" of reducing the company's cost base make him the "ideal candidate" for the job.

He will also oversee the company's efforts to gain regulatory approval for anti-asthma and pulmonary disease treatment Flutiform.
Chartered accountant Grant is previously CEO of Voice Commerce Group, and has held senior finance positions at Eurodis, WorldPay and Molins.
