MARSTON'S, a pub operator and brewer, has appointed former chief financial officer Nick Backhouse as a non-executive director with effect from 1 February.
Backhouse is currently senior independent director of Guardian Media Group and a non-executive director of All3Media, an independent television production company.
He was previously deputy chief executive officer of David Lloyd Leisure Group, and CFO at National Car Parks, the Laurel Pub Company and Freeserve.
Before that he was a managing director at ING Barings, a financial services firm, which he joined after qualifying as a chartered accountant with Coopers & Lybrand.
