LONDON RESTAURANT Café & Tapas has called in administrators from Leonard Curtis.

Alex Cadwallader and Neil Bennett, from Leonard Curtis were appointed joint-administrators to the business which was launched in 2009.

It was created as a subsidiary of the successful Spanish company Café & Te and operates a number of sites in London including Piccadilly, Kings Cross and Bankside.

Cadwallader (pictured) said: "The brand and business model has been and continues to be very successful in Spain and this UK company had hoped to replicate that.

"However, this has not proved to be the case, despite significant support from the shareholders."

A Café & Tapas restaurant on Regent Street is owned by a different company and is not in administration.
