Woodhouse to step down from Debenhams FD role

DEBENHAMS FD Chris Woodhouse is stepping down from the business to focus on his other business interests, which include chairman roles at Gondola Group and Agent Provocateur.

Woodhouse's role, which he vacates on 10 January, will be taken by Simon Herrick.

Most recently Northern Foods group FD and then acting CEO, Herrick is a chartered accountant and holds an MBA.

He has also held senior roles Regus, Hays and Pepsi Cola International.

Michael Sharp, chief executive of Debenhams, said: "Chris Woodhouse has played a significant role in the development of Debenhams over the past eight years. The board and all his colleagues thank him for his contribution and wish him every success in the future.

"At the same time we are delighted that Simon Herrick will be joining us. Simon has strong financial experience gained in a range of companies and business environments. His skills and experience will be a great asset to Debenhams."

Shares traded 2.35p up this morning, to 65.1p.
