Chartered accountant turns up heat at Greggs

CHARTERED ACCOUNTANT Ian Durant is Greggs' new non-executive director, adding to roles as audit committee chairman at Greene King and chairman of Capital and Counties Properties.

The high street baker today announced third-quarter sales rose 5.4% and year-to-date sales climbed 46%, and has opened 53 shops since January.

Chairman Derek Netherton said: "We are delighted that Ian has agreed to join our board. He brings extensive financial and commercial experience, and added insight into the world of commercial property."
