BDO ADMINISTRATORS have been called to Sony retailer The Sony Centre.

David Gilbert and Andrew Beckingham, partners at BDO, have been appointed to Sonex Communications which runs about 15 Sony retailers across the country trading as The Sony Centre.

According to Sonex's most recent financial results, the firm made a pre-tax loss of £2.7m in the 12 months to March 2010. Its turnover also slumped by £7m to £23.8m during the same period, reports Accountancy Age's sister publication CRN.

Earlier this year Gilbert was appointed administrator alongside Martha Thompson on magazine printer Nuffield Press.

BDO administrators did not comment at the time of publication.
