THE BOARD of publishers Dawson has stepped down following its acquisition by Smith News.
CEO Hugh Cawley, chairman Nigel Freer and non-executive directors Brendan Dean and Jim McCarthy have resigned from the board.

Cawley, who was previously finance director and acting MD for Volvo, joined the business as FD in 2007.
Current Smith News chief financial officer Nicholas Gresham will assume the role of CFO for the newly formed combined business and has been appointed executive director.
