ASSET MANAGEMENT company Schroders has announced the appointment of chartered accountant Ashley Almanza to its board.
Almanza was appointed chief financial officer of the BG Group, the successor to British Gas in 2002, until March this year. Between 2009 and 2010, he was also managing director, UK, Europe and Central Asia. He held the position of chairman of the Hundred Group of Finance Directors between 2007 and 2010.

Almanza will also serve as a member of the nominations committee and the audit and risk committee.
Michael Miles, chairman of Schroders, said: "We are delighted that Ashley is joining Schroders as a Non-executive director. His experience as chief financial officer of a major listed company will further strengthen the board and the audit and risk committee and I look forward to his contribution."
