Avia executive swaps FD role for audit committee

AVIA TOP DOG Nigel Leavy has stepped down from his role as part-time finance director in favour of a non-executive position as chair of the audit committee.

ACCA-qualified Paul Preece will continue as full-time finance controller and company secretary at the healthcare software specialist.

Chief executive Barry Giddings said: "I wish to extend the board's and my personal thanks to Nigel for his efforts and commitment to Avia. Nigel and I started Avia, having devised the health informatics strategy for the Company, raised the initial funding and acquired Plain Healthcare and since taken Avia into America, Australia, Europe and are now entering India and the Far East."
