Firm requests two-year extension of auditor representative
METALS EXPLORATION has sought an extension of its auditor representative by a further two years.
The company’s audit committee requested that the Smith & Williamson auditor be allowed to continue working with them.
A statement from the business said the changeover of audit representative was during a “critical” time for the company and that it wanted to “safeguard” the quality of the audit.
Quoted companies must adhere to the Audit Ethical Standards, which requires that individuals responsible for auditing a business rotate after five years.
In exceptional circumstances, the audit committee can request an extension of two years.
