JUSTIN READ has taken up the CFO reins at listed commercial property business Segro.

He succeeds David Sleath, who was promoted to chief executive in December having been group financial director since 2006.

Read (pictured) was most recently group finance director at Speedy Hire for three years. Prior to that, he spent 13 years in a variety of roles at building material company Hanson including deputy FD, MD of Continental Europe, head of risk management and group treasurer.

Group treasurer Andrew Pilsworth has assumed all financial responsibility for Segro until Read's arrival on 30 August.

Sleath said: "Justin will be a great addition to the Segro team and will bring an excellent blend of experience and intellect to the business. He has a depth of experience gained from a variety of financial and management roles across a number of different types of business."
