CONSTRUCTION SUPPLIER C & G Concrete has appointed PwC administrators.

Eddie Williams and Matthew Hammond were made joint administrators of the ready mixed concrete and mortar business, which employs about 120 people and has offices in Lincolnshire, Humberside and Peterborough.

Other parts of the group, including FH Gilman, are not part of the appointment.

Williams, (pictured) a director at PwC, said: "C & G is a well-known business within its local markets, with a strong reputation for quality and service that was making significant progress in terms of its performance.

"There have already been a number of serious expressions of interest in the business and our main priority now will be to quickly progress these interested parties plus other potential acquirers to the completion of a sale of the business."

The business has faced significant challenges, particularly the adverse weather conditions last winter.

The business was placed in administration by its directors following a London Gazette advertisement petition for winding up.
