Marco Pierre White buys Maypole from Baker Tilly administrators

BAKER TILLY ADMINISTRATORS have sold collapsed pub and hotel chain Maypole to international celebrity chef Marco Pierre White (pictured above).

Restructuring partners at Baker Tilly Simon Bower, and Bruce Mackay were appointed joint administrators in October last year. The duo claim White was one of 20 interested parties.

Bower said: "This is a fantastic outcome which secures the continuity of the group. Throughout this process, the continuous support and encouragement of the loyal staff and customers has ensured we have been able to keep trading. We wish the Maypole team the very best for the future."

Maypole runs a chain of pubs and restaurants that double up as hotels, across Norfolk, Suffolk and Wiltshire. The company was founded in November 2003.

The company suspended trading on the AIM market in October 2010 and it is reported
