KPMG HAS ACQUIRED global consultancy business EquaTerra.

The acquisition is one of the highest-ranking sourcing and shared services advisory businesses.

John Griffith-Jones, co-chairman, KPMG Europe, said the acquisition will allow member firms to help clients manage large scale, cross-border transformation efforts.

"KPMG member firms provide a full suite of services for enterprise executives seeking to optimise their organisation.

The acquisition of EquaTerra complements these existing capabilities and deepens KPMG member firms' shared services and sourcing expertise, intellectual property and services."

The price for the deal was undisclosed.

Advisor or Provider

The interesting question that this acquisition raises is whether KPMG can credibly provide both outsourcing advisory services as well as be an outsourcing provider? Or have they decided to focus on the advisory and allow others to provide the actual services?
