Two senior finance pros join Intertek board

TWO SENIOR FINANCE PROFESSIONALS have been recruited to the board of product safety testing business Intertek.

Michael Wareing and Alan Brown will join as non-executive directors immediately.

Wareing was previously a partner at KPMG and latterly international chief executive. He also served as the UK's commissioner and co-chair of the Basra development commission. He is currently chairman of the Iraq advisory board for security business G4. He will continue in non-executive director and audit committee chairman roles at heating and plumbing business Wolseley and aerospace company Cobham.

Alan Brown, currently CEO of support business Rentokil where he has served since 2008. Prior to that he held he was CFO of Imperial Chemical Industries, and held several senior finance and management roles at Unilever including, commercial and finance director of Birds Eye Walls, and executive chairman of China.

Vanni Treves, chairman of Intertek, said the pair's "interesting and wide-ranging experiences" will add strength to the board.
