Charity finance director veteran Karen Thompson joins PKF as audit partner
FARM AFRICA’S former finance manager Karen Thompson has joined PKF as audit partner in the charity and not-for-profit division.
Thompson was previously director of resources and chief operating officer at FARM-Africa, with global responsibility for the charity’s finance IT and HR function.
She began her career at Deloitte where she worked for 12 years in a variety of roles, latterly as director of audit and assurance. She then worked with War on Want, where she was director of finance and IT.
Ian Mathieson, head of charities at PKF, said: “We are delighted to have Karen on board and welcome her to the team. I have known Karen since she joined FARM-Africa and have always been impressed with her understanding of the complexity of the financial and strategic challenges that charities are facing today.”
