Big Four firm receives a record level of applications
PWC HAS RECEIVED up to 8,000 applications for graduate jobs and internships in 2011.
A report on consultant-news.com reveals the firm has received an avalanche of applications from hopeful candidates who believe the job market is improving. PwC is recruiting for 1,600 roles, a record level for the firm.
Accountancy Age reported in November that 5,500 hopefuls had registered their interest in the posts in just six weeks. The recruitment campaign began in October.
At the time Richard Irwin, head of student recruitment at PwC, said the record numbers “reflect early signs of confidence in the job market returning amongst students”.
“Record attendance at our campus events contrasts with three years ago, when often at the start of the year, you could sense some ambivalence from students. Now there’s a much stronger determination amongst them, to get a job or experience sorted out as early as possible,” he added.
PwC has 1,200 full-time graduate appointments, 400 internships and 70 post A-level positions.
