Former Microsoft man takes CFO role at Mamut

KNUT STÅLEN has taken the chief financial officer (CFO) role at one of the UK accountancy software provider Mamut.

Stålen was most recently director of finance for Microsoft Norway, which he joined in September 2009. Prior to that he was CFO of Norwegian technology company Trolltech for seven years before it was acquired by Nokia, where Stålen then worked as director of finance until May 2009.

He takes up his new position at Mamut in January 2011, succeeding Martin Kværnstuen

Last year Mamut saw its customer base dramatically increase when it inherited 9,000 customers from a Microsoft contract. Microsoft announced at the end of 2009 it would cease distribution of its Office Accounting software and signed a deal with Mamut to supply its customers with support for five years .
