CFO leaves biotechnology company

The chief financial officer of Silence Therapeutics has resigned.

Melvyn Davies, who was also company secretary, had been with Silence for 15 years. He will assist the company for up to three months until they find a successor.

Silence, which specialises in treating serious diseases with biotechnology, also announced the resignation of Iain Ross, chairman and a director of the board. The board has appointed Jerry Randall, senior independent director, to replace him.

Randall said: "I would like to extend my own and the board’s heartfelt thanks to both Iain and Melvyn for all they have contributed to Silence.”
