Helen Verney is the new finance director of the Diocese of London.
She joins the diocese from health and social care charity Jewish Care, where she has served as FD since 2005.
Previous FD roles include the Multiple Sclerosis Society and Crisis.
Verney will manage the finances of a £30m income charity, with £345m in net assets, leading a 20-strong finance team.
The diocese covers 479 Church of England parishes across London.
She spent six years as a trustee of the Charity Finance Directors Group, and is currently treasurer of the National Council for Voluntary Organisations.
"It highlights the strength of the church in London, that we are able to recruit someone with Helen’s experience and in-depth understanding of the voluntary sector," said the diocese's general secretary Andy Brookes.
