Former Venture Production FD Peter Turner to join Smiths Group
Peter Turner, the former finance director of oil independent Venture
Production, is set to join Smiths Group, the security and medical engineering
group.
Turner takes over from John Langston, who will stand down at the end of May
after serving as FD for the past four years.
Prior to Venture Production, Turner held a number of senior financial roles
at BOC, the global gases group.
Welcoming Turner, Smiths Chief Executive Philip Bowman said: ‘Smiths will
benefit not only from his strong finance skills, but also from his wide
knowledge and experience of multinational operations, including the oil and gas
sector.’
The news comes as Smiths announced half year pre-tax profits of £178m, up 7%,
for the six months to 30 January 2010.
