Andrew Bonfield, former Cadbury FD

Last week we asked what market sentiment would be like for Cadbury’s Andrew Bonfield following the Kraft takeover. That was effectively answered when Kingfisher appointed him as a non-executive director. The next question will be is Bonfield going to go plural, or is there a big exec role around the corner?

Mark Hoad takes the top finance spot at BBA Aviation. He is currently the financial controller of the flight handling company having joined in 2005. He has previously worked in various finance roles at chemicals company RMC. Hoad takes over from Andrew Wood who retires in April.

Stuart Winship is promoted to CEO just six months into the role of finance director at trade publishers Touch Group. He joined the company in 2004 as director in charge of the online division and was promoted to the FD role following the resignation of Darren Drew. Most recently Winship was an audit partner at Deloitte & Touche.

He takes over from Theresa Saklatvala who leaves to pursue other interests. The search is on for a new FD who will have their hands full as the company accounting reference date has changed from 31 December to 31 March.

Patrick Sung, the finance director of Cathay International is stepping down to become financial controller. He is succeeded by Siu Ka Chi Eric as finance director who has previously worked at Banco Santander, Barclays and Ernst & Young. He is both ACCA and ICAEW qualified. Sung joined the hotel operator and pharmaceutical business in 1994 as financial controller.

Mark Protherough takes the executive director role for learning and professional development at ICAEW. He joined the institute in 2005 and was responsible for strategic development and implementation of the ACA qualification.
Former LDP head Dr Raymond Madden left the institute suddenly last year.
