The Financial Reporting Council has poached the ABI's director of investment affairs Peter Montagnon.

Joining in early June, Montagnon will bring his vast experience in representing investor views on audit and accounting issues as senior investment advisor.

Montagnon has made regular appearances in Accountancy Age's Power List of influential figures on the profession.

"He will significantly enhance the FRC’s capabilities across all the areas of its work important to investors, in particular providing valuable perspective and input into the development of the UK Corporate Governance Code and the new stewardship code for UK investors," said chairman Sir Christopher Hogg.

Montagnon joins former colleague Stephen Haddrill at the council. Haddrill is CEO at the FRC.
