KPMG administrators are appointed to global supplier and manufacturer of wall and floor tiles, Pilkington's.

Paul Flint and Brian Green from KPMG restructuring in Manchester are joint administrators to Pilkington's Group, as well as Pilkington's Tiles (Ireland), Pilkington's Tiles, and Quiligotti Access Flooring.

Pilkington’s, which has supplied merchandise to Hilton Group and Sheraton hotel in Dubai, employs 380 people.

Flint, associate partner at KPMG restructuring, said: “Pilkington’s has suffered intense cash flow pressures as a result of recent adverse trading conditions.Indeed, it’s no coincidence that the latest BRC-KPMG Retail Sales Monitor indicated that furniture and floor coverings were the worst-performing sectors within retail.

“We intend to trade the Pilkington’s Group business while we seek a purchaser for the company and its assets.”

Other customers include Heathrow and Stanstead airports, Tesco, Waitrose, Old Trafford football stadium, the Coca-Cola plant in China, Ikea in London, and various underground stations including Kings Cross and Liverpool Street.

There have been no staff redundancies.
