Election of directors up for the vote this week

The corporate governance watchdog is to decide this week whether it should push ahead with measures forcing company directors to face annual re-election.

The Financial Reporting Council will decide on Friday this week whether shareholders should be asked to confirm directors in their posts each year.

The FRC has been considering corporate governance in the wake of the crisis with the new consultation following on from recommendations contained in the Walker Review published last year.
