The ICAEW has accredited its first expense management system, GlobalExpense, which is the first business to receive the accreditation from the institute.

The ICAEW also worked with the software company to develop the new category which came into existence this year.

David Vine, CEO at GlobalExpense said poor compliance can leave organisations "wide-open" to expenses fraud.

"We hope that the new ICAEW accreditation category for employee expense management will encourage more managers to address fraud taking place in their organisations,” he said.

Businesses seeking accreditation from the ICAEW, in this category, must show efficiency of authorisation of expenses.
