The tax return process is confusing more than two-thirds of small business owners, according to a new survey.

The study by Accountz showed 68% are baffled by tax returns, with 22% having missed deadlines purely due to the complexity of the process.

Of the 100 small business owners questioned, 55% said they had calculated their tax bill through the year and saved up accordingly, while 5% claimed they used credit cards to pay off HMRC.
