Recruitment group Hays has brought in former Smiths FD Alan Thomson as its chairman.
Smith, who served as group FD of Smiths between 1995 and 2006, joins Hays as a non-executive director in October, and becomes chairman at its AGM in November.
Bob Lawson, current chairman said that Hays was positioned with a "more efficient businesses than never before" after coming out the other side of the recession.
