FD unlikely to be named as LogicaCMG boss

Seamus Keating , LogicaCMG's finance director, is unlikely to be the company’s next chief executive following the decision by long-standing CEO, Martin Read, to step down from the role.

Keating was previously seen as the most likely candidate to replace Read.

The company said it is was now consider external candidates with a headhunter  likely to start the search this week.

Read was CEO at the company for 14 years.

He announced he would be retiring ahead of schedule after the Logica board held an emergency meeting during the Bank Holiday weekend to discuss the company's difficulties.

He will remain with the company during the transition period.
