Manchester City Football Club has appointed a new finance chief.

Graham Wallace joins the club as chief financial & administration officer, having served as senior vice president of finance for IMG’s worldwide sports media and entertainment businesses.

He will lead Manchester City's finance team as well as overseeing its technology, HR, legal and admin functions.

His appointment comes as part of a bigger shakeup in the club's executive leadership team, which sees former Arsenal and England star Brian Marwood appointed football administration officer and David Pullan as brand and marketing officer.

'The club’s owners have outlined an ambitious vision for long-term, sustainable growth and these appointments represent a vital investment in our capacity to achieve our full potential as a club and as a partner in the development of New East Manchester,' said executive chairman Garry Cook.

In this paper, Professor Peter Horvath and Dr Ralf Sauter present what's wrong with the current approach to budgeting and how to fix it.
