PricewaterhouseCoopers has raided Ernst & Young's tax practice, poaching two well-respected tax partners.
Paul Davies has been recruited as tax industry leader of the firm's retail and consumer group.
'The retail and consumer sector makes a significant contribution in taxes to UK government revenues. As well as having to manage their businesses in this increasingly tough economic climate, our clients in this sector have many complex tax changes to understand and contend with,' Davies said.
Andrew Dale will join the firm's international and large corporate practice in Birmingham as a corporate tax partner. He was lead partner on a number of EY's corporate tax clients in the international and large corporate sector.
