ICAS education chief to chair international body

Mark Allison has been appointed chairman of the International Accounting Education Standards Board.

Allison, executive director of education at ICAS and visiting Professor at Robert Gordon University took up the position on 1 January and will work across the two roles.

Allison has previously worked for the European Union, the World Bank and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development.

The IAESB is responsible for the development of accountancy standards which apply to the educational requirements of both qualified and student accountants globally.
