Friends Provident has recruited Charles Bellringer as interim chief financial officer while the company continues its search for a permanent replacement.
Bellringer joins from AlixPartners where he has been director since 2004 and will continue his role alongside his full time placement at Friends Provident.
He has over 30 years experience in finance including chief finance and investment officer at Equitable Life Assurance Society as well as senior finance roles at GE Capital, Metropolitan Life and Legal and General.
Bellringer takes over from Jim Smart who left the company earlier this year just after the company announced a planned merger with Resolution.
Friends Provident are currently using a specialist search agency to find a permanent CFO.
The company also announced that Trevor Matthews had officially joined the company as chief executive.
