Measures to hit tax avoidance will bring in billions of pounds for the government, according to pre-Budget report statistics.

Hitting composite companies, corporates, stamp duty land tax and capital gains tax avoidance will help the government bring in over £6bn in revenues up to 2009/2010.

New measure to hit composites will recoup a billion pounds over the next three years.

Countering corporation tax avoidance will recoup nearly a billion pounds by 2010.

Increasing air passenger duty rates will bring in over £3bn.
